Speculations about MS Dhoni's retirement have been rife since the start of World cup 2019.
In a media report Dhoni is said to have responded to his retirement rumours.

India is scheduled to play its final game of the 2019 World Cup against Sri Lanka in Leeds on Saturday. Speculation about the future of veteran wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, who is playing in his 4th World Cup, has been widespread since the tournament began. Although some had predicted that he might be playing his last tournament, according to some other experts, Dhoni would continue to play in Indian colors even after the World Cup.

In a report of the news channel ABP News, a journalist claimed to have confronted Dhoni himself with the issue of retirement. It was reported that Dhoni, in his inimitable style, replied that he himself does not know when he will end up retiring.

"I do not know when I will retire, but a lot of people want me to retire before tomorrow's game," Dhoni told ABP News.

The journalist also clarified that the "people" in Dhoni's previous statements are not related in any way to the team or management of India. Instead, the channel claimed that Dhoni was referring to people in the media who continue to make assumptions about the future of the legend.

Earlier, a PTI report had said that the last Indian match in the World Cup could become the swan song of MS Dhoni in the colors of India.

"You never know with MS Dhoni, but it is unlikely that he will continue to play for India after this World Cup, but since his decisions to leave the captaincy of the three formats have been taken so suddenly, it is very difficult to predict moment, "said a senior BCCI official to PTI.

However, the correspondents of India Today had confirmed these speculations as mere rumors without substance.

In addition, Captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri have always been fervent supporters of Dhoni and their teammates have also shown their support to the most important member of the ODI setup.
